TRC 6512 MDB Product Phase-Out Announcement

This letter is to advise you, that after considerable thought, MEI has reached a decision to stop the manufacturing of the TRC 6512 Coin Changer.

Models affected:

TRC6512 MDB

What this means to current TRC 6512 MDB users:

No additional coinsets will be created to support new currency issues.

What you can do if you wish to continue use of the affected TRC 6512 MDB product line:

Ensure that you have a sufficient amount of product necessary to support your machines.

Replace the TRC 6512 MDB product with the Conlux CCM5G Coin Changer or the CF7000 Series Coin Manager.

Timeline:

MEI will continue to provide technical support and spare parts for the TRC 6512 MDB for a maximum of 5 years, assuming component availability from our suppliers.

You must place your final buy order of the TRC6512 MDB by May 15, 2009.

All Shipments will occur by the end of August 2009.

You may contact your Regional Sales Manager or your local distributor with any questions or concerns regarding this matter.

Important Change

***** Amendment to $1 Coin Law *****

The House of Representatives and the Senate have passed an amendment to section 5112(p)(1)(A) of title 31, United States Code, which revises the requirement that all vending machines operated by federal agencies and instrumentalities accept and dispense $1 coins. The amendment exempts from such dispensing requirement any vending machines that do not receive currency denominations higher than $1.
